About This Deal
Introducing The Highbury Vintneress, a special mixed case curated by the women of Highbury Vintners. Each wine has been personally selected by members of the team, bringing together bottles they love to recommend, drink and share.
The result is a case that reflects the diversity of tastes across the shop, from elegant Old World classics to vibrant wines from exciting modern producers. Expect a mix of structured reds, aromatic whites and bottles with real personality, all chosen simply because they are wines the team genuinely enjoy.
Together, these six bottles offer a journey from the Rhône Valley and Mosel to California, South Africa and Türkiye highlighting both celebrated regions and distinctive winemaking voices.
The Wines
Domaine du Grapillon d'Or Gigondas 2022 – A classic southern Rhône red with depth and character, showing ripe dark berries, garrigue herbs and warm spice with a structured finish.
Domaine Francois Raquillet Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2023 – Classic, elegant Burgundian Pinot Noir with bright red cherry and raspberry fruit, gentle spice and a beautifully balanced, silky texture.
Chamlija “Chamlija Nev’i Şahsına Münhasır” Sui Generis 2020 – A distinctive Turkish red blend with layers of dark fruit, spice and savoury complexity, reflecting the unique terroir of Thrace.

About Business

Highbury Wintneress
Award Winning & Independent
Our premises, 71 Highbury Park, has been a drinks shop since the building was constructed in the early 1900s. Over the years, we developed from a traditional off-licence into one of London's best wine merchants serving Highbury and beyond. Owner, James Nicholson, took over stewardship in 2019, bringing his wealth of experience, having recently celebrated 40 years in the trade.
Being independent gives us extraordinary flexibility with our wine range. James and the team are constantly searching for new wines to offer you fantastic quality and great value for money. We stock close to 1400 wines from all over the world, so there is something for everyone. We like to focus on smaller producers that you don't find in supermarkets or larger retailers. These wines are typically small production, organic, family-run and share similar values–fantastic quality and great value for money.
Everyone working in our team is tremendously passionate about wine, and between us all, we have sampled and enjoyed every drink in the shop! In addition, all staff members have completed WSET courses to give you good advice on anything from food matching to unusual grape varietals.
Our recent awards:
International Wine Challenge (IWC) Retailer of the Year 2025
International Wine Challenge (IWC) Regional Retailer London & South East 2025
The UK's 50 Best Indies 2025
